[ Studio ][ Small on purpose ]

The studio

Hoofs is a small digital studio from the Netherlands. We design brands, build websites and write the software behind them, as one team from first sketch to launch.

Most digital work dies in handovers: strategy hands to design, design hands to development, development hands to whoever answers the support inbox. Every handover loses intent. We removed the handovers instead of polishing them, so the person who sketches the identity is the person who ships the code.

That only works at a certain size, so we stay small on purpose. Fewer projects, longer relationships. Most of our clients are still with us years after launch, and most of our work comes from the projects we quietly keep improving.

How we work

  1. 01

    Start in the room

Every project starts on location: the dining room, the workshop, the venue. The brand is already there; our job is to notice it and write it down.

  2. 02

    Design and build together

No handover between design and code, because they are the same person. What gets designed is what ships, and what ships is what was designed.

  3. 03

    Launch small, then stay

We would rather launch a sharp small site this month than a sprawling one next year. After launch we stay: new pages, new features, fixes the same week you ask.

What we make

Identities
Wordmarks, type systems, signage, the rulebook that keeps them consistent.
Websites
Fast, editable, built to be changed by you and maintained by us.
Software
Booking engines, quoting tools, the systems behind the site.
Care
We keep what we build: updates, improvements and fixes, same-week.
